A single national house of parliament - the Dáil - is all that we need. The Seanad will be consigned to history, and the job which the Seanad is supposed to do (to oversee and double check legislation) will be done by other parts of the system, and through much more openness and transparency within the Dáil itself.

Along with all elected TDs having the right to initiate a general election vote, within the Dáil, the general public should also be allowed to initiate a general election directly. If a certain number of people of voting age want a general election to be called, then going by the whole ethos behind democracy, a general election should be called.
